A Safe Haven for Vulnerable Children in Musina

Shelter Protection Education Hope |

Since 2008, CWM Children’s Project has been providing shelter, protection, food, and education to unaccompanied minors and vulnerable children in Musina, South Africa.

Changing the Story for Vulnerable Children

In Musina, unaccompanied minors and vulnerable children often face hunger, exploitation, and life on the streets. CWM Children’s Project provides a safe child and youth care centre with shelter, nutritious meals, education, and counselling — restoring dignity and building brighter futures.

Safety and Belonging

Every child deserves more than a roof over their head — they deserve a place where they feel protected, accepted, and part of a family.

Learning and Growth

Education is more than schoolwork — it’s the key to unlocking potential, building confidence, and opening doors to a life filled with new possibilities.

Healing and Hope

True care restores more than the body. Through counselling, guidance, and love, we help children heal from trauma and believe again in a future worth living.

What we do

At CWM Children’s Project, our work goes beyond providing basics — it’s about restoring dignity, nurturing potential, and building stronger futures for vulnerable children. These are the four pillars of our care:

24-Hour Care & Shelter

A safe home changes everything. We provide round-the-clock accommodation where unaccompanied minors are protected from the dangers of the streets. With trained caregivers and a secure environment, children can finally experience stability and a sense of belonging.

Education & Life Skills

Every child deserves the chance to learn. We enrol children in local schools and provide extra support to help them succeed. Beyond academics, we focus on life skills — from communication and decision-making to resilience and responsibility — equipping them for independence.

Psychosocial
& Health Support

Healing goes deeper than the physical. Through counselling, guidance, and access to healthcare, we help children process trauma, rebuild self-esteem, and grow emotionally. This holistic approach ensures they are cared for in body, mind, and spirit.

Family Reunification
& Community Integration

Whenever possible, children are traced and reconnected with their families. Working closely with identification and documentation teams, we support reunification and community reintegration. Where that isn’t possible, we create a supportive environment where children can thrive as part of a new family.

About CWM Children’s Project

CWM Children’s Project is a registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO 069-805) located in Musina, Limpopo. Founded in 2008 by Christian Women Ministries, our mission is to safeguard children’s rights by offering protection, food, shelter, education, and psychosocial support.

We currently care for more than 40 children, both boys and girls, and partner with the Department of Social Development, churches, and local communities to sustain this work. Over the years, we have been supported by organisations such as UNICEF, Red Cross, and Venetia Mine — yet the need continues to grow.

Our vision is to become a leading child and youth care centre in South Africa, recognised for creating lasting change in the lives of vulnerable children.

You can help us change lives.

Every donation, partnership, or act of volunteering contributes to a child’s safety, education, and future.
